Sunday Pass
If you have an existing valid Sunday Pass you can access free travel on Sundays with a Sunday Pass.
The Sunday Pass provides free travel on Sundays on metropolitan trains, trams and buses in Zones 1 and 2, on the regional transit networks of Ballarat, Bendigo and Geelong, and town bus services of Mildura and Warrnambool.
Each year, you will also receive two off-peak travel vouchers to use for travel anywhere in Victoria. The vouchers can be exchanged for V/Line tickets before travelling. Vouchers cannot be used on V/Line weekday services arriving in the Melbourne CBD before 9am or leaving the CBD 4 – 6pm.
Applying for a Sunday Pass
You can only apply for a Sunday Pass when you are applying for a Victorian Carer Card through the Department of Human Services, Carer Card program. New applications are only accepted from successful Carer Card applications.
For more information, see Victorian Carer Card (link opens in a new window)
Victorian Seniors Card holders, Disability Support Pensioners and Carer Payment recipients are now eligible for a free myki which contains a free weekend travel entitlement. For more information, see free weekend travel.
Travelling with your Sunday Pass
You must travel with both your Victorian Carer Card and Sunday Pass when accessing free travel entitlements on metropolitan trains, trams and buses.
When travelling on the regional transit networks of Ballarat, Bendigo and Geelong, and town bus services of Mildura and Warrnambool, you can show your Victorian Carer Card as a flash pass to access free Sunday travel. You do not need to carry a Sunday Pass with you.
